Real Navy Damselfly Wing Earrings, Small iridescent Blue Wing Earrings

 
These real insect wing earrings are made with repurposed wings of a damselfly Matronoides cyaneipennis from South east Asia.  The navy blue iridescent wings of the males are highlighted when placed against a dark background.  It is saidnthe iridescence helps them attract a mate.   Set on surgical steel ear wires and accented with black obsidian gemstone beads.

This specimen has been purchased from a licensed supplier in Ontario Canada.

Handcrafted by me in my London Ontario Canada studio. Though my pieces are watertight, they are not 100% waterproof so care should be taken to not allow these to get wet.
